It was late (or early) when Piper and Annabeth stumbled back into the flat. They struggled to keep quiet as the girls fumbled through the hallway, the brunette holding the blonde up dropping her bag down. Despite the impulsive nature of the night out so Thalia and Percy could get some alone time, the two found the energy to have enough drinks to make Annabeth more than a little tipsy. “I still think that guy at the bar was cute” she said, her words slurring a little as she struggled to stand still.
“He was also gay” Piper laughed, recalling how Annabeth made a drunken fool of herself trying to charm-speak her way into the man’s pants forgetting she only shares Pipers gift inside the flat. “And you’re in a happy stable relationship” she added.
“One which lets my boyfriend sleep with Thalia while I go drinking with you” Annabeth retorted. She didn’t hold any malice in her words. In fact she was hoping to walk in on the pair of them so they might join in. “It was a nice thing you did for her” she said, stroking Piper’s cheek proudly. “I know Percy appreciates it to. He’s always wanted to go to bed with her, even before we got together.”
“I’m relieved you’re not mad” she replied.
“I’m mad we couldn’t stay” she complained.
Piper left Annabeth in the hall so she could approach her bedroom door. She wasn’t as intoxicated so she was able to creep up more quietly, trying not to disturbed the pair of them. She poked her head into the master bedroom and found Percy and Thalia asleep in bed, the two of them snuggled up together. Annabeth looked over her shoulder as Piper saw the adorable smile on Thalia’s face, quietly closing the door to let them sleep. “I don’t think we should disturb them” Piper suggested.
Annabeth groaned in disappointment. “They did look adorable” she admitted. “Funny, I don’t feel jealous” she observed as she shrugged off her coat.
“That’s because you know Percy loves you” Piper said, taking Annabeth’s arm leading the unsteady young woman to the other bedrooms.
“He does” Annabeth nodded proudly. “But I’m happy for Thalia too. She is one of my oldest friends, and I knew she had a thing for him.”
“You did?”
Annabeth laughed. “You’re not the only one with eyes McLean” she said, putting her arms around the brunette. “So since I was kind enough to let her borrow my boyfriend, I think it’s only fair we borrow her room” she decided, dragging Piper into the guest room to drunkenly make out with her.
They fell onto the bed entangled with each other, the kiss sloppy as Annabeth fumbled trying to get Piper’s clothes off. Piper wasn’t as tipsy as Annabeth was, and so was able to get a little more control over the young blonde as she made moves on her. It was far into the night approaching morning when Piper’s bedroom door opened. The young woman was sleeping lightly in her bed when she sensed the presence of someone entering her bedroom. Piper smiled, her choppy hair a little frazzled from bed hair, but she gave the daughter of Zeus her full attention. “What’s up? I thought you’d still be in bed with Percy” she said. She saw the rose color in her cheeks and asked “how was it?”
Thalia broke into a childish grin as she blushed. “It was amazing” she said, unable to contain her buzz. “Percy was amazing. He was…” she couldn’t form into words how wonderful the experience was. Piper was glad. “I wanted to thank you” she told the daughter of Aphrodite, sitting on the edge of the bed looking at her through the moonlight. “What you did, with Artemis, for me…you didn’t have to do any of this.”
“I wanted to” she replied, taking her hand and squeezing it. “I wanted you to have a chance to be happy.”
“I am” Thalia nodded. “I got more than I could’ve hoped for. The Hunters Gathering is going to change everything for us. And I got my night with Percy, a real night with him, without loopholes or magic. Well, maybe a little magic” she giggled, still feeling butterflies in her stomach.
“So how long do you have left?” Piper asked her.
“Until dawn. As long as the full moon is up” she replied.
Piper shrugged. “So why are you here?” She asked her curiously. “Wouldn’t you rather spend your last hour with Percy?”
Thalia rose to her feet, keeping her eyes on Piper as she reached down and untied her dressing gown. “I got a whole night with him. But I wanted to spend this hour thanking you for everything you’ve done for us, and for me” she explained, letting the gown drop to the floor around her bare feet, revealing her naked figure to the daughter of Aphrodite.
